What Does My Name Mean?

Samara (S uh - M aa - R uh)

The name Samara has a Hebrew origin and means guardian or protected by God. I can attest to being protected by God because of the past event that happened on the first day of school. I was involved in a horrible car accident that led to my car flipping and I had to climb out of the driver window which shattered. I was very lucky because most accidents like mine don't have a happy ending. The firefighter that happened to be on call that day, his daughter was in the same accident at the same place that I was and his ending wasn't so happy.  Every day that I wake up, I thank God and all my angels that surrounded me that day because August 28th, 2017 could have been my last day in human form on this Earth. I am a strong believer in God and so much that I took the leap of faith at my Church to become a SWAG (Students Walking After God) Leader to empower and tell my story about anything that I have accomplished with God on my side. For example, losing 2 loved ones in less than 6 months and empowering others on how to deal with that or when I had my Gallbladder removed 4 months after losing 2 family members.
It is very easy to take things for granted and somedays I took things such as my parents or my siblings or my grandmother for granted. God showed me that I cant take things for granted because they can be taken away quicker than they were given. But with the help of God in my everyday life, he shows me things that I never thought I would be able to do. For instance, being able to interpret things I learn in history and TOK at home with my parents. I used to hate history but now I am beginning to understand it and its all because if I believe I can do something and pray about it, with the guidance of God I can do it!
My name is a Beach town in Costa Rica, which I think is cool because I have always wanted to visit Costa Rica and it's beautiful just like me! It is also the Botanical term for a dry, winged fruit (Maple Trees), that is also something interesting because when I go out to Roscoes Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles California I always get Maple Pancakes with some good ole' fried chicken. There is also a culture that is a Copper Age culture. Also, there is a Samara House that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and Samara also is a charitable organization aiming to improve political and civic engagement in Canada. Which reminds me that whenever someone is named a good Samaritan it makes me happy because a good Samaritan is, "A compassionate person who unselfishly helps others, especially strangers." My mom always says that I am always willing to help people and go the extra mile for others. Making others happy and helping them to enjoy life is one of my big dreams that I want to accomplish before I leave this Earth along with making my parents happy and making a name for myself in the world. Meaning that I would love to leave this Earth as someone other people aspire to be like and wanted to take what I have done in life and do even more. An example of me being a good Samaritan (not to pat myself on the back ;) ) When Haiti had that major Earth Quake about 8 years ago, I was in elementary school and I started a food drive that raised a ton of money and a ton of food that was able to help them. Until this day, that is what motivates me to be the SAMARA that I am. I am occasionally a little selfish but there is no harm in it. I want to be a lawyer so that I can help people be stress-free of problems and know that I am there for them no matter what! And I can only have the strength to do that with God watching over me and carrying him in any and EVERYTHING I do.
